Wind Nomads is a free community map of kite and wing spots, kite houses and schools. These terms are the rules of the road. By using the website or creating an account you agree to them.

2. Safety first – please read
Kitesurfing and wing foiling are dangerous sports. Wind, gusts, currents, tides, waves, obstacles, water quality and local rules can change quickly and can lead to serious injury or death.
- Wind, weather, tide and water data on Wind Nomads come from forecast and weather models (e.g. Open-Meteo), not from measurements at the spot. Local effects are often missing. Values can be wrong, outdated or unavailable.
- Spot information, wind directions, hazard notes and ratings come from the community or are estimated automatically (e.g. from coastlines). They can be incomplete or wrong.
- The «perfect vibe» score is a playful indicator of how well conditions match your preferences. It is not a safety assessment.
Always check conditions on site, ask local riders or schools, respect local rules, ride within your ability and never ride alone or offshore. You alone decide whether to go on the water.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- Give us correct information and keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person, one account. Usernames must not impersonate others or be offensive.
- You can delete your account at any time by writing to info@windnomads.com.
4. What you share
You keep the rights to your texts, photos and videos. By uploading or posting, you give Wind Nomads a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, display, adapt (e.g. resize, crop, translate, correct names) and publish this content on Wind Nomads and in communication about Wind Nomads (e.g. our social media channels, naming you as the author if you are shown by name). The licence ends when you delete the content, except where it has already been shared or is part of the map data (places stay on the map).
Only share content that you created or have the right to share. Please respect the people in your photos – ask before you post recognisable people.
Not allowed: false or misleading entries, advertising and spam, offensive, discriminatory or illegal content, private information about others, and content that encourages dangerous behaviour. Commercial operators (kite houses, schools, shops) may add their own place, but must say so and describe it honestly.
5. Checks and moderation
New entries are checked with the help of an AI model and approved by our team. We may edit, correct, merge, hide or remove entries and content, and suspend or close accounts that break these terms. We'll usually tell you why in your account messages. There is no right to have an entry published.
6. XP, levels and stamps
XP, levels and stamps are a just-for-fun reward for contributing. They have no monetary value, can't be transferred, and we may change the rules or correct XP (e.g. after removed content).
7. Third-party content and links
Maps, satellite images, place names and weather data come from third parties (see the privacy policy) and are subject to their terms and attributions. Links to websites of kite houses, schools or others are their responsibility, not ours.
8. Availability
Wind Nomads is a free community project. We do our best to keep it running, but we can't promise that it is always available, error-free or that data is never lost. We may change, pause or end features at any time.
9. Liability
As far as the law allows, Wind Nomads is not liable for damage resulting from the use of the website or its information, in particular from relying on wind, weather, tide or spot information, or from content posted by other members. This does not limit liability for intent or gross negligence, or for injury to life and health where such liability cannot be excluded by law. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country remain unaffected.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. If changes are important we'll let members know in the app; by continuing to use Wind Nomads you accept the updated terms.
11. Law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Swiss law. The courts of the Canton of Zurich, Switzerland, have jurisdiction, unless mandatory law gives you the right to sue at your place of residence.
